Christmas Carol Concert December 2017

Father Christmas was a surprise visitor arriving during a performance by some of the village childrenA number of brave souls met around the tree and sang a few carols 'al fresco' before walking up the hill to continue the concert in the warmth of the Village Hall. Following the concert there were mince pies and mulled wine and a lots of chatter with friends and neighbours in the build up to Christmas.A big thank you to the organisers and all who participated.(we really must practice the 12 Days of Christmas for 2018)

Cowbridge Community War Quilt

To support the Cowbridge 2014 – 2018 WW1 commemorations, a group of sewing enthusiasts are planning to make a large quilt to remember all those from Cowbridge, Llanblethian and Aberthin who have died in conflict from 1914 to the present day. The completed quilt will be displayed in Cowbridge on Remembrance Day 2018.For more information or if you would like to join the group:Click here for further details

New - Arty Cooks'Arty Cooks' class, a cooking and craft class for children.Thursday morning 9.30 am - 11.30 am and Thursday afternoon 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm.  (This will run every week in school term time and it's also intended to run some sessions during the school holidays).

An Evening not to be missed - Saturday 20th May

This was a really good evening and the Village Hall was packed.

Duck Race 2017

A very successful day and just for a change we had water in the stream!The Ducks were in 'top form' with some completing the dangerous course through the rapids on Nant Aberthin in a record 4 minutes and 15 seconds!Check out the photos on the Gallery page 

Annual Duck Race -10.30am - Sunday 2nd April 2017  
Come along, sponsor a duck and join in the fun as 500 highly trained Yellow Ducks race down Nant Aberthin - you never know, YOURS could be the winner. Just £1.00 per duck - from your committee member or pay on the day - if there are any left!

All money raised at the event will go towards maintaining the Village Hall.


Pantomime - Aberthin Young Players

The first weekend in March saw the world premiere at the Hall of Snowflakes ‘R’ Us, a wonderful fairy-tale written and directed by Glesni Jones and performed by the newly formed Aberthin Young Players,a group of talented youngsters from the village ranging in age from 6 to 14 years.Performances on Friday night and Saturday afternoon sold out and the delighted audiences witnessed a wonderful fairy-tale pantomime complete with elves, fairies, baddy kings and wicked witches, a hapless Dame and a more hapless group of incompetent village bobbies.
